What we ask
We ask how the person wishes to be addressed, how carers should enter, who should be involved, what is private, which foods matter, whether prayer should be protected, and whether gender preferences apply to personal care.
Languages represented
English, French, Swedish, Somali, Nepali, Italian, Arabic and Hindi are represented within the wider team. A particular language match depends on current availability.
Experience across London communities
Caring Lane has experience supporting Muslim clients, African Caribbean households, South Asian families, halal food, prayer routines, modesty preferences and LGBTQ+ clients.
When an exact preference cannot be met
We say so honestly and discuss the closest respectful alternative. Preferences are recorded in the care plan rather than left as informal promises.
Start with what you have noticed.
Tell us what has changed, what the person wants and what the family is worried may happen next.
